  Sparlock: The Sociology of the former Jehovah’s Witness community

  thewatchtower bible and tract society has unwittingly unleashed quite a viral sensation within the ranks of its former members.

  to summarise what has happened so far:- become jehovahs friend dvd is released.

  it is an animated feature aimed at children with modern computerised graphics.- the antagonist of the relatively brief cartoon is a self-described warrior wizard by the name of sparlock which was obtained by caleb, the young subject of this material.- the unnamed mother in this dvd guilt-trips young caleb into disposing of his sparlock toy.- the video goes viral within the ex-jw community, with youtube videos being posted of the video.

  I don't see the video and its message as facile at all. Dissecting its teachings and approaches are necessary to uncover its harmful effects on the lives of those touched by it.

  The number of threads or comments about the video is hardly overkill. Lurkers and posters probably don't enter every thread. Therefore, if someone wants to comment on a topic, they may post on an existing thread or simply start their own (such as yourself) instead of wading through previous threads. It may be that simple.

  I ain't no amputated limb either... ouch!

  okay, first of all: i like the earth, the polar bears, the whales, and any other part of the planet that someone wants to help.

  i appreciate any efforts that people exert.

  the planet is going through global warming and pumping exhaust from automobiles and factories and other sources does contribute to the global warming.

  Hello - My story

  i have been lurking on site for some days and thought i would share my story.. i am a warrior wizard, who has had dealings with a jehovah's witness family.

  reading through the posts here i realise that these people shun those those who have left the organisation, that is very sad.

  i was never even given the chance to become a member.

  Could some of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, and Jehovah’s Witnesses “Governing Body” be suffering from Schizophrenia?

  could some of the watchtower bible and tract society, and jehovahs witnesses governing body be suffering from schizophrenia?.

  does it strike you as odd that millions of jehovahs witnesses and the multi-billion dollar watchtower bible and tract society might be directed by men who received a special calling by god as teenagers in the 70s?.

  in light of the fact that 99% of jehovahs witnesses accepted the accepted watchtower doctrine that the 144,000 were sealed in 1935, those that suddenly began partaking in later years, (especially untested youth) were frequently met with raised eyebrows and thought of as possibly mentally diseased in times past.. could there be an explanation?

  Balamsass: There is definitely a connection. Although I don't think most are schizoprenic (clinically), there is definitely some disordered thinking going on. And keep in mind that narcissism manifests itself in similar ways. Huge egos these people have.

  So, WatchTower continues the guilt trippin' and shame rubbing.

  Children are responsible for everyone's feelings: Jehovah's, Mommy's and Daddy's, and everyone else's.

  Watchtower has this down pat. It cannot get any worse than this.
